Block is a one of the big two defensive skills along with Dodge

Usage

Block is a passive skill that interposes your shield's resistances into an oncoming weapon attack.

Block and Dodge Cannot be used simultaneously. If a player has both skills the test to see which is used is simple. If a Shield is equipped, Block will be used and not dodge, if a shield is not equipped, dodge will be used.

Formula

%Chance = Block Skill / 300

150 Block skill has 50% chance of Blocking

Differences from Ultima Online

  • In the original Ultima Online, the Block skill was called Parry but served a very different purpose there. Rather than completely negate damage like Parry did, Block adds your shield resistance to the mitigation stack
