The soldier is a defensive specialist with no particular weapon preference. While remarkably powerful with groups of other soldiers, Shield Wall and Standard Bearer make for strong support tools in any party.
Gameplay
With the addition of some Aim skill to the Fighter's build, Soldiers benefit immensely from the occasional use of thrown weapons like Javelins. The ability to make a ranged attack against a fleeing target makes it easier for a soldier to stay in formation without sacrificing attacks. Soldiers also get a remarkably effective Intimidation skill, tilting the odds even more in their favor.
Roleplay
Doughty and forthright, soldiers are something of an everyman. A soldier is an experienced combatant who's used to working alongside other professionals. Sometimes a bit hidebound, soldiers think tactically but can get too focused on maintaining discipline.
